Odesa GalleryApril 28, 2024Auction house Goldens, whose auction is taking place in Kyiv, accepted for auction a painting by People's Artist of Ukraine Albin Gavdzvinsky from our fund.
An anniversary auction was held in Kyiv 60th auction "Collectible classical art". Among the lots were presented unique works by outstanding artists - Ilya Repin, Sergei Vasilkovsky, Alexander Bogomazov. The peculiarity of the presented lots is the return of artists to the pages of Ukrainian history. We have already noticed more than once how Ukrainian artists were classified as Russian (Russian).
Today, the world community has already begun the process of identifying (separation) Ukrainian artists and the number of the general concept of Russian art. An excellent example is the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, which, after a full-scale invasion, reconsidered its attitude towards Russian art and changed the title of one of the paintings Edgar Degas to "Dancer in Ukrainian Dress". We can only wait for separate sections “Ukrainian Art” in such major world auction houses as Christie's, Sotheby's, Phillips.
